Automatic sprinkler systems in Group I-1, I-4 and R occupancies up to and including four stories in height shall be permitted to be installed throughout in accordance with NFPA 13R as listed in rule 1301:7-7-47 of the Administrative Code.(a) 903. (c) 904.3.3 System interlocking.

Sprinkler protection shall be provided for exterior balconies, decks and ground floor patios of dwelling units where the building is of Type V construction, provided there is a roof or deck above. Automatic fire detectors utilized for the purpose of performing fire safety functions shall be connected to the building’s fire alarm control unit where a fire alarm system is required by paragraph (G)(2)( 907.2 ) of this rule. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. The wiring to the auxiliary devices and equipment used to accomplish the above fire safety functions shall be monitored for integrity in accordance with NFPA 72 as listed in rule 1301:7-7-47 of the Administrative Code. (5) 907.5 Initiating devices. Audible signals shall be in accordance with paragraph (G)(6)(b)(907.6.2) of this rule. (e) 904.3.5 Monitoring.
